Q. What is Mini DisplayPort?
A. Well in a nut shell its the new video standard that Apple has created and is making standard on pretty much every new Mac they produce. This article should give you the full story. “DisplayPort: What you need to know”
Q. How do I know if my MacBook has Mini DVI or Mini DisplayPort?
A. Mini DisplayPort was first released in the UniBody MacBook Air and Pro range of laptops. Earlier model Macbooks (white/black plastic MacBook’s and the non unibody aluminium MacBook Pro’s) are equiped with a Mini DVI port. See the below image for more detail.

Q. Will the Mini DisplayPort provide an audio signal to the HDMI adapter?
A. It all depends on when your Mac was manufactured. Mac’s manufactured after April 2010 support audio out through Mini DisplayPort. Mac’s manufactured between 2009 and April 2010 do not support audio through Mini DisplayPort so you will require a separate audio cable. To get an audio signal you will need to run a separate audio cable. Note: Not all TV’s will support a separate audio in with a HDMI signal so you may need to connect it to a different audio device such as an AMP or stereo.
Q. Will my MacBook support full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution on a HD TV.
A. Yes, as long as your TV can display full HD resolution and you Macbook is set to extended display mode.
Q. How come my TV just shows the Mac wallpaper?
A. This is because you are running your TV in extended mode. If you want to mirror your Mac display on your TV go to
System Preference > Display and tick the check box for “Mirror Display”
Q. How do I get sound from the MDP to HDMI adapter?
A. Firstly, make sure your Mac supports audio from the Mini DisplayPort (needs to be manufactured after April 2009. Secondly make sure your Mac is using the external output for audio. Go to
System Preferences > Sound > Output and then you should be able to select external audio source.
Q. Who do you use for shipping?
A. All our orders are shipped through Australia Post.
Q. Do you ship outside Australia
A. Our standard pricing includes shipping to locations in Australia only. We can ship items internationally however additional charges will apply. Email us for more information.
Q. Where are my goods shipped from?
A. All of our products are kept in stock and shipped directly from our distribution center in Melbourne.
Q. How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A. Regular Mail is usually between 3-5 business days. International Mail varies depending on the location but usually takes between 7- 14 business days. If you need your goods urgently please email us before placing an order so we can discuss shipping options.
Q. Can I pick up my order?
A. No, unfortunately we do not have facillites to allow orders to be picked up, they must be ordered from this website and shipped to your door.
Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. We accept VISA, Mastercard and PayPal payments. We have found that these are the most secure and safe ways to transfer money. Paypal accept most credit cards if you have a PayPal account you can link it you normal bank account for direct debit transfers.
